A trip in London.

London is situated in the south-east of the Great-Britain, it’s the major and the biggest city of the United Kingdom. London plays an important role in the art and in fashion. It’s also an important  touristic destination. It receives 27 million tourists a year and account four sites listed in the world heritage as well a of numerous symbolic monuments : Palace of Westminster, tower Bridge, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace but equally institutions such as British Museum or National Gallery.

I went 3 times to London, once for 11 years  old of my brother, the next time for my 11 years  old and in fourth during a school trip. It was every time different. The first time I discovered everything, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, etc. The second time I remembered what myself I saw. The third time I discovered more things, I was  going in  « a welcome family » ( The family where I was did not really show me how  live the English people, they served us to eat in our room, we spoke practically never with them). But what I like in London is the eccentricity of the persons, over there, people make fun of their appearance, they get dressed as they want, without complex, with them own styles, and I find that good. The have many different styles  in relation to France. There is also an effect of the monarchy when we are in front of the palace of the queen of England, with her « symbolic » guards who don’t move and were dressed in red and in a black hat like Margin Simpson. 

I’m going to present you several monuments :

Big Ben is the nickname of the big bell of 13,5 tons installed in the Clock Tower of the Palace of Westminster, the seat of the Bristish parliament. The building faces in the Thames, between the Westminster Bridge and the Abbey of Westminster.

The Palace of Westminster, also indicated under the name of Houses of Parliament, is the place where sit the Commune and the House of Lords of United Kingdom. The palace lines the north bank of the Thames and is situated in the district of London of the City of Westminster.

Tower Bridge is a seesaw bridge crossing the Thames near the Tower of London. 

The Tower of London is a historic fortress situated on the north bank from the Thames to London. Her construction began toward the end of year 1066 within the framework of the Norman conquest of England.

The Abbey of Westminster is one of the most famous religious buildings of London. It’s the burial place of a part of kings and queens of England ans also men and famous women. The «  place of the poets » honour the writers of the kingdom. The nearly-totality of the crowings of the English monarches took place in this abbey.

Buckingham Palace is the  official residence of the British monarchy in London. The palace us at the same time the place where occur the events un connection with the royal family and an important tourist attraction.
